Just as a comparison: I belong to Lichess, Chess.com., and just recently became a free (limited) member of Chess24. These comparisons are purely subjective. The player pool of chess.com appears to be slightly stronger than Lichess on average. On Chess24 I wasbeating 1800's which i never do on either Li or Com, so i assume their player pool is weaker. The graphics on Li aren't flashy, nor is the dashboard, but it is simpler and more responsive. The video offered by 24 and Com is deeper and they provide live coverage of events. I was amazed to find Chess24 is asking 109 US dollars/year for advanced ability to watch videos and get computer analysis. Com is asking approximately the same. Here is something interesting: Chess24 offers videos on Youtube. but in the one i watched, it was broken up into three parts, each with an attached advert. It's getting just like television, when they squeeze every dollar out of shows. Not that i begrudge a decent living, but i suspect the internet will become like AM radio, which is practically unlistenable here in US because of ads. My wife doesn't watch live tv, preferring to record everything and skip through the ads. Sorry to digress, but this isn't a formal analysis. thx for your attention.
