Rant about chess rules OTB in real life: Hanging Kings

I guess I am just looking for some validation.
I wont bore you with the story that prompted this rant but i'll just make my declaration clear.
I'm a king taker.
If we are playing a casual game without a clock and i put you in an absolute pin and you move the pinned piece... I'm freakin taking your king... nuff said
And i don't want to hear you cry about how YOU made an illegal move. There's no clock to add 2 minutes to so what's my compensation for you blundering the most important piece on the board? Chess is so often a game of mental attrition it just doesn't seem fair to me that i gotta grind out a game for 50 moves where at the end of it you crack in the worst way possible but then i have to give you a free take-back or be accused of bad-sportsmanship.

Reply with a yay if you agree or a nay if you believe king hangers should be rewarded with 2nd tries.
if the game is a slow game: reset the position to before the first illegal move, and the side that made the illegal move has to play a legal move with that piece, if possible (application of touch move)
if the game is a blitz game: your local club's mileage may vary, so to be on the safe side just call whoever is responsible and he should adjudicate you the game
if the game is casual: no one cares, you might as well settle it with rock paper scissors
just tell your oppenent "dude you are in check, don't you see the pin, ooh maaan, what am i gonna do with you??" and smile
If you take the king, you're no longer playing chess. It's up to you.
This is a very strange rant, it really doesn't make any sense. It's not possible to move into check - it's an illegal move. What other illegal moves should arbitrarily be allowed because the game is being played at a low time limit?
I have heard of king slayers but never king hangers.
The king is dead, long live the King!
Cant get rid of these royalty, worse than cockroaches.
Sorry, I didn't realise I can't move my rook four squares diagonally and through two other pieces, I'm in too much of a hurry to observe the rules. Oh well, let's just go with it then.
Like @LM Lightsss mentioned, it also depends on your club. I remember our school's chess club playing blitz (with analog clocks at that time ... so many years ago) and one of the odd rules is that if a player accidentally exposes their king to check, the other player can eat the other person's king and win the game. (Since I'm a significantly slow player even now) I never played those, but they were fun to watch. :3

@letsmakethiswierd, that's similar to that guy (whose rant I read somewhere) complaining how some billiard players in a bar don't consider potting the 8 ball on a break an automatic win. I suppose the bottom line is it really depends on what rules both parties agree on. If you can't properly set a common ground, then you'll have trouble playing games to completion.
I imagine the rule about being able to take the king if exposed to check is meant to punish and therefore teach new players to pay attention to what they are doing.

To the original poster - I'm trying to put myself in your opponent's shoes. I don't think I would argue with you about how legal it was to take my king and therefore win the game, but I probably wouldn't play another game with you. Friendly beats arrogant every time... just an FYI :). I find it so weird. Looking at your profile you have a really good rating - who are you playing that a) doesn't realize they are in an absolute pin, and b) you couldn't just go on to beat for real anyway.

P.S. I would love to hear you define the word "casual" lol
Yes i am the OP

Usolando #3 good suggestion i used to do that... but not anymore like cptmajormajor #6 said the enemy royalty are cockroaches that require my boot!

Aiishe #4 I researched this rule extensively. Under slow time controls you have to stop the clock get the arbitrator and he will add 2 minutes to your clock and reset the position, Under Fide rules (Europe) two illegal moves means you forfeit, in the US they just keep resetting the position over and over again without limit which doesn't make any sense to me. In both countries in rapid or blitz time controls if you hang your king just once you lose, in the US you can capture it, in europe you may not, you must stop the clock point out the illegal move to the arbitrator and he will declare you the winner but don't just take it or you made the last illegal move and will lose! So we are still playing chess here it is just a discussion about what should be a good rule of thumb in casual games

Little_Bobby_Tables #5&7 I feel like you understand my rant but are seeing it from the other side. What if i didn't notice i could capture his king? If the only penalty for his mistake is a do-over shouldn't we all try to make illegal moves to improve our winning chances? It's not fair to make illegal moves. You nailed my point exactly but from the other side of the fence. So what should be the punishment for hanging your king when no clocks are used? I vote death!

weakwithwords #8 Yeah i am going to start telling people up front I'm a king taker and if they don't want to play because they want unlimited tries to not hang their king well then fine I dodged a bullet there.

thetasquared #9 it is actually the opposite for new players i do what Usolando suggested but for people who should know better I take their king hold it up high over my head and do a little victory dance and talk to it, tell it all my thoughts about it's poor play for all the world to hear. J/k not really but maybe. As you can tell casual can be quite competitive and trust me strong players are just as prone to blunders as the rest of us just look at the last couple games of the world cup that just ended this week!

Im still hoping to get some yays or nays I basically want to take a vote, it sounds like most of y'all are nays which i don't get... why can't you be confident in your ability to not hang your own king?
