About me

FIDE Candidate Master Thuso Mosutha is a 27 year old chess
sensation who hails from the sleepy village of Sebina.
He is one of the few Motswana players to ever obtain the prestigious
Candidate Master (CM) title from the World Chess Federation as
recognition for his consistent excellence in the game of chess.
During the years, he broke multiple records.
He has grown to be one of the most experienced and strongest
chess players in the country, despite his age which is considered
young in chess.

Playing experience

From the age of 14 years, i have been playing chess on national, regional and world level

a. 2014 - Botswana Junior Chess Championship: Champion
(Gold Medalist).
b. 2015 – Botswana Chess Federation Self-Sponsored Blitz:
Champion (Gold Medalist).
c. 2016 - Olympiad in 2016, Baku - Azerbaijan.
d. 2017 - 37th Botswana National Sports Commission
e. 2018 – Gaborone International Chess Championship:
Bronze Medal
f. 2019 First Capital Bank Easter Showdown – Champion
(Gold Medalist).
g. National Chess Championship: 2020 Botswana National Champion

a. 2016 Swaziland Chess Open – Champion (Gold Medalist).
b. 2019 Lesotho Chess Open – Champion (Gold Medalist).
3. CONTINENTAL
2015 African Amateur Chess Championships – Champion
(Gold Medalist).
4. WORLD/OLYMPIC
a. 2016 World Chess Olympiad – CM Mosutha qualified for the
National Team as the second highest rated player in Botswana that
went to participate at the 42nd World Chess Olympiad, Baku -
Azerbaijan.
b. His good all round performance in the Open Section Team Event
earned him the FIDE Candidate Master title.
c. He was also the 2nd best overall performer in the team.

Teaching experience

With FIDE national instructor title, I offer creative ad Innovative ways of learning and improving in chess. For 5 consecutive years, I have been teaching and coaching chess.
