About me

I'm Dagne, Woman Grandmaster and International Master, based in England.
Check my website dagnechess.co.uk/ for my 6 weeks' chess courses for Adult Beginners who would like to enter Intermediate Level.
It is not that hard, you know, if you concentrate on the right areas of the game.
On my website you will find the recommended chess books as well as what I do or have achieved in general.

Playing experience

Originally from Lithuania, I have been representing England since 2007. As a member of the Lithuanian and currently England's Women National Team I have played in numerous Chess Olympiads and European Team championships. In over 33 years of my chess career, I have had nice wins against Grandmasters like C. Bauer, S. Williams, J.Radulski etc.

Teaching experience

I have more than 15 years of coaching experience in running individual or group lessons. I have helped the English Chess Federation' juniors at World and European Youth championships.
As my schedule is buzzing with individual chess students, I have decided to give a chance to learn from me to a wider audience by running group lessons. Do check my website dagnechess.co.uk/ as I update the dates for the next course on a regular basis.
Additionally, I hold a BA degree in psychology at Vilnius University.

Other experiences

As a member of England's Women's Team and an accredited ECF chess coach, I have been giving individual as well as the group chess lessons at various chess events in England and abroad.

Best skills

I like giving a strategic overview of the game to start with. Once you know what is important in chess in general, we could settle down to drilling.

Teaching methodology

A typical plan would be to start the sessions with an analysis of a student's games. The focus would be on areas of improvement identified from the games. Also, guidance on what a student has to work on straight away. In the lessons, I will share tips from my vast experience playing competitively.
