About me

I am Natasha Morales Santos from Puerto Rico. I am a Woman International Master with a norm of Woman Grand Master. I have played and practice chess for over 10 years. Currently, I am the #2 women chess player from Puerto Rico, and I have played three Olympiads.

Playing experience

Recent Performance:
- 1st place under 2200- 54th National Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 2023
- Sub-champion (Classic) in the Centro American and Caribbean 2023 in Puerto Rico
- Silver (Blitz) and Bronze (Rapid) in the Centro American and Caribbean 2023 in El Salvador
- Champion in the 12th Annual Hartford Open 2023

Crowning Achievements:
- Member of the Puerto Rica's women's Olympics team in Chennai (2022), Baku (2016) and Tromso (2014)
- Champion in the Centro American and Caribbean sub20 in San Jose, Costa Rica (2014)
- Champion of Puerto Rico (2014) and sub-champion many times

Teaching experience

Currently I am teaching young adults and adults, preparing individual plan for each student. Also, I have experience as a chess club teacher and individual teacher for many years. I have volunteered to teach chess to prisoners in Puerto Rico and I can provide training to any individual interested in learning the art of chess.

My best skills for teaching in chess:
- Middle games: Characteristics of pieces, making plans, types of centers
- Endgames: Practical endgames
- Visualization: As a legal blind person, I have trained to use the visualization pretty often in the games and training.

Teaching methodology

- Individual plan: I configure the teaching plan personally for each student, according to their knowledge, level. and goals. I also accept input from the student that they want to learn and put into their personal plan.
- Resources: Chessbase, lichess and google meet
- For start the classes: Share with me the last 5 to 10 games of the last tournaments or your lichess account for me to make the preparation of a personal plan.
