FM Huseyin Can Agdelen

Hello, I am FM Huseyin Can Agdelen from Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). I am 24 years old and I have a huge passion for playing and teaching chess.

I am the first titled player from my country and one of the youngest national champions. I was pretty much self-taught after a certain point which made me realise how important having a chess coach was. I would be very happy to work with you and help you improve so that your chess journey would be much easier than mine :)

Apart from chess, I studied computer engineering at university and I am currently doing my master's degree in the same area. I really like programming and working with technology in general.

I am good at spotting tactics and calculating quickly. That is why I tend to perform better in faster time controls. I strongly believe that up to a certain point, tactics and calculation are the most crucial part of the game.

Also, I have a good opening repertoire for tactical attacking players and I would be more than happy to share my knowledge.

In the first lesson, I go through a list of positions with the students, try to understand their thought process and discuss their moves. Then, I analyze the games of the student (both otb and online) and determine their strengths and weaknesses. This helps me to prepare specific course material for the needs of the student.

Lessons are provided in pgn and also homework is given at the end of each lesson.
