WFM Noemi Špiranec

Hi everyone! I'm Noemi, a 24-year old WFM from Croatia. I've been playing chess actively for the last 13 years and three years ago I became more active in the coaching area. I have a lot of experience in teaching people from various age groups as well as international students. I worked as a chess coach for international as well as Croatian chess academy. I've started playing chess at the age of 11. Throughout my career I achieved the following results: 3rd place in Girls U13 Croatian Championship, 3rd place in Girls U17 Croatian Championship, U17 Croatian Girls Champion, in 2019 I won gold medal with my team at Croatian Junior Team championship, came fourth at Croatian Women's Championship, won gold medal with Croatian Women's team at the Mitropa Cup and came second on a very strong Hum na Sutli Open, ahead of very strong IMs and GMs. In 2022 I won the gold medal with my team at the Croatian Women's team Championship.

For the past 3 years I have been quite active in the coaching area and have mainly worked with children of all age groups. Also, I've been a lecturer in chess in schools programs in two Croatian cities. All of my students so far, have improved both their rating and their chess skills. They also had great results in their age categories at Croatian Cadet Championships. One of my former students regularly wins trophies at Croatian championships.

I would say my best skills in chess, but also in general in life would be that I am a hard working and dedicated person. Also, I try to be as objective as possible while thinking couple of steps ahead. I am very patient and good at explaining and transferring my knowledge to others.

Each lesson lasts 60min and is conducted via Skype. Before the lesson it would be good if you sent me a couple of your games so I can go through them and see what kind of mistakes you usually make. We will cover all parts of the chess game - opening theory, typical middlegame plans and structures as well as the endgame. But, you can always make your own suggestions and bring out the topics you would like me to cover. My focus will mainly be on improving your way of thinking and overall chess understanding. Each lesson will be followed by a couple of homework exercises so that you can get a better grip of the things we did on each lesson. Always remember that working on your own is just as important as having a coach to guide you! :)
