I'm pretty sure they are. If you are on lichess.dev, the usernames wouldn't be the same.
I saw something on reddit that anonymous users (people not logged in) is assigned a random username...
It would be more clear if the results were presented as positions and not a ranking, since this is based on a racing metaphor. Like, I was in fourth in a race, but it presents the results as "ranking 7/10", which is really confusing. There's no need for that, you have the first place, second place and so on.
I have a similar experience. I haven't found any lichess profile under nickname "PrincelyDuck".
@Geniree : You're right, anonymous users get this random nicknames. I tried to play puzzle racer not being logged in and I got also kind of funny random nickname.
