Mild trash talk

I used to hate any kind of trash talk, however mild, because it distracted me. But then I reflected that it was good to learn not to be so easily distracted and so I accepted it as a challenge. And then I came to see mild trash talk as funny, and started to practice it myself. But I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, and so I'm asking the community for advice.

As an example, I just played a guy who calls himself "WorkingGuy". So, just after the game started I wrote to him: "Shouldn't you be working?" It's silly but I find it amusing. He didn't reply, and of course I didn't mind. Am I getting bad karma for it?
No, you are getting good Karma, for being a funny person.
Sounds like a very similar joke I sent to someone else a couple weeks ago. Forgot the name but it was funny and I had to tease him about it. He sent me back a message and we laughed. Oh it was ScatmanJohn.
Alright folks, unless there are dissenting voices I'll take this as the answer of The Community and keep on teasing my opponents when I feel like it. Thanks!
Well the keyword here is mild. If someone finds it that distracting, they just turn off the chat. I think acceptable.
I don't really mind any sort of prodding before or after the game - sticks and stones. But I generally block anybody who goes for mid-game banter. That's illegal in a regular game and offers an unfair edge in the distraction.
I once lost a game because a guy "Blah blah blah I'm blocking you cuz you think too much!!11one" What part of respect for the opponent don't you guys understand? I'm really tired of those "wannabe badboy" Idiots that would even sell their mothers just to annoy you.
lol. Seems the community is a bit divided about the matter.

I must say I've only been doing it in Bullet, which I don't take seriously. It would probably annoy me a bit in Blitz which I take more seriously. (I would take Standard even more seriously if I played it at all.) So I can understand that someone who takes Bullet seriously might be annoyed. On the other hand, the one who banters is the one who loses time, so if you just ignore the banter you actually gain an advantage.
If somebody tilts from losing and trash talks it's always funny.

But if somebody wins a game and then initiates trash talk by making fun of the loser (due to arrogance) it always shows very poor character and poor sportsmanship. Them I always block.
