According to what I read at a customer review the 4th edition doesn't have the endgame stuff the 3rd edition has. There might be other reasons why the 3rd edition is better. Perhaps the brilliant CafeMorphy is the person to ask.

Yes. And no. Because unfortunately the game starts with the opening. Therefore a seeker of chess wisdom should have some basic solid concept/plan how to begin a game.

I just gave the 4th edition a quick look and it seemed to me that Silman tried to improve on his classic and ended up pulling a George Lucas :)

I recommend this link. It's a customer review that explains the differences between the 4th & 3rd editions of "How to Reassess Your Chess: Chess Mastery Through Chess Imbalances". After reading that review I decided to get both editions because I can afford it and I think that's a good idea.

Yes , I've been told to analyze my games many times. I do analyze some of them and look at my mistakes .Thanks for your advice. I'll definetely try to play less and longer games.
