Charity? Non-profit? No profit?

Lichess, good that you made this post and the tweet. Truely lichess is for now, the best online chess platform out there, FIDE is a mainly OTB focused organization, and absolutely not the only one doing chess related things non-profit.
The tweet quotes FIDE claiming they’re a not-for-profit and then responds that lichess is a non-profit. Those two things are not the same—is there any comment on lichess status as a not-for-profit?
Quick question. As you are an European thing. It would be possible to donate to you throu my business as well. Either hardware rentals or straight money. Would be nice if you could set that up.
Thank you Lichess! You've been doing a lot to promote chess, and without using analytics! This is worth a specific mention, simply because of how rare it is these days. FIDE uses Google Analytics and others, so in that sense they are not truly non-profit. The "no money changed hands" argument is weak, especially when we know that Google provides them services and user data is changing hands in the meanwhile.

It's another pity that FIDE forgot about this other non-profit. By carrying the ceremonial duties around master titles and official ratings, they have a specific role in the chess community. It's important that these roles are carried out non-profit. Their online tournament viewing experience contains and attributes the Lichess project. I think it's clear they see a role for themselves and a role for Lichess. But perhaps they underestimate what Lichess, by having such strong principles, can become.
Of course there is a chance that that was a honest mistake, but the chance is pretty small, and knowing Sutovsky for having a huge, enormous mouth, he won't skip a chance of making a "mistake" which can boost his ego. It would be nice to write an open letter to the chess community, expose his "mistake" and demand an apology from him, although I'm sure he won't give in.
